Allegro Barbaro by Bela Bartók, arr. Hirsh (M/A)

This is perhaps one of Bartók’s most famous works influenced by the Hungarian/Romanian folk styles.   Melodies based on pentatonic and octotonic scales, strumming, rasgueado and nuances of articulation, tempo, and  dynamics will provide your players great opportunity for developing ensemble expression.   Available in three arrangements types:  Expanded (easier), Standard, and Quartet (hardest).
