Guitar Ensemble Music

Guitar Ensemble Music.com provides high quality music, ideal for educators, community guitar groups, and professionals. Created by composer/guitarist/educator Alan Hirsh, all arrangements have been thoughtfully composed, making the most of the guitar’s unique range and color.

All works have been created with group diversity in mind.  Many school and community ensembles include players of varying levels of experience and background.  As a way of addressing this issue, parts within every arrangement/composition range from Easiest, to Intermediate, to Hardest.

Standard Arrangement

Guitar I: an upper register part–hardest level of difficulty.

Guitar II: an upper/middle register part–medium level of difficulty.

Guitar III: a middle register part–easiest level (in some arrangements, may be omitted).

Guitar IV: a lower/middle register part–medium level of difficulty.

Guitar V: a lower register part with the 6th string tuned down to D–medium level of difficulty

Expanded Arrangement

(same as Standard, but includes):

Requinto (each string sounds a 4th higher) an upper register part–hardest level of difficulty.

Contrabass (each string sounds an octave lower) lowest register part–medium level of difficulty.

Some expanded arrangements may include only a contrabass part–which may be available in bass or treble clef.

Other types

While the Standard arrangement is the most common, many works (especially Easy-level pieces) are also available as quartets or trios
