Dansereye Suite II, Tielman Susato, arr. Hirsh

Four selections of Renaissance instrumental dances from Susato’s famous collection, Dansereye.  The first two, Ronde and Saltarello are a theme and rhythmic variation.  2nd Movt. Pavane is a beautiful slow movt. and the lively 3rd Movt., La Mourisque, is a reference to the 16th century Moorish culture. The original manuscripts have been freely arranged for greater guitaristic effect, including techniques of strumming, and tapping on the soundboard.
