Simple Gifts (E)

An excellent first introduction to guitar ensemble that addresses a diversity of abilities at the beginning level.  The music is rich and incorporates a good variety of homophonic, and polyphonic textures.  Parts I and V are the hardest. III is the easiest. The 6th string of Guit. V = E.  In the expanded arrangement, requinto doubles Guitar I and contra provides an extra lower octave of bass support.   A Trio version with a lower teacher part and upper student parts is also available.
