Three Recercatas by Diego Ortiz

These 16th century dances are from Ortiz’s Trattado de Glosas.  Recercatas, (a type of “variation descant”) originally written for viola da gamba, have been arranged here in the Spanish Renaissance style.  Guitar I has the hardest and most active part; all other parts include a variety of strumming, color, and percussion.
