Gabriel’s Message, arr. Hirsh (M)

The gentle Basque Carol, Gabriel’s Message has Medieval folk origins and in recent times was popularized by Sting.  The work begins with a brief introduction followed by a theme and two variations.   Musical treatment is both traditional and contemporary–textures are colorful featuring considerable harmonic blurring (campanella fingerings included).   Currently available in two versions : Standard and Expanded 6, ( standard and contrabass).
